Dirk Reimelt was born in Brazil and moved to Germany in 1989. After finishing school, Dirk Reimelt studied industrial engineering at the KIT (former University of Karlsruhe) until 1996 when he joined Daimler AG as a trainee. After several assignments and positions within the area of international production support he went for 2,5 years to Beijing, China to build up the Quality Management Department of Beijing Benz Automotive Company. Main projects within the Daimler Joint-Venture for passenger car production was the ramp-up production of Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Chrysler 300C. Back to Germany and after further experience in Mercedes-Benz plant Bremen Dirk Reimelt joined Business Innovation, a new Business Unit at Daimler AG reporting directly to the top management, created to identify new business opportunities and support Daimler’s growth targets. Since January 1st 2017 Dirk joint the Mercedes-Benz Vans division and is heading the area of “Shared Mobility and Transportation” within “Future Transportation”.
