Ludwig graduated in Mechanical Engineering with a Diploma thesis building kinematic LEGO prototypes. After working in Australia, USA and China, he did his Master’s degree in Technical Management including studies about LEGO workshops. His passion for organizational creativity made him become a researcher in Porsche’s innovation management department, specializing on Open Innovation projects. During that time, he did his PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on ideation community platforms. Finally with Daimler, he went through the CAReer Trainee program with projects in vehicle ergonomics, mobile apps development, the innovation studio and the society and technology research in Silicon Valley.

Today, he is part of the DigitalLife@Daimler Culture & Innovation team with a mission to drive digital transformation with creativity workshops, intrapreneur coaching und trend scouting with a focus on USA. In his spare-time, he loves volunteering as a kids coach for programming robots, riding rollercoasters all over the world and exploring new places on the skateboard.

The corporate environment is no longer a place of seriousness and sterility. Company culture is changing, organizations are embracing innovation, creativity and design thinking. Research has shown that hands-on, minds-on learning, such as that offered by Lego Serious Play, produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities. This talk examines the power of play in enhancing communication skills, imagination, confidence and insight.
