Adriene Mishler is an actress, international yoga teacher and entrepreneur from Austin, Texas. On a mission to get the tools of yoga into schools and homes, Adriene hosts the YouTube channel Yoga With Adriene (YWA), an online community of 3.5 million subscribers. YWA provides high quality practices on yoga and mindfulness at no cost to inspire people of all ages, shapes and sizes across the globe. YWA was recognized by Google as the most searched workout of 2015, has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal and was awarded a Streamy in Health and Wellness in 2016. Adriene also co-founded the subscription network Find What Feels Good (FWFG), dubbed the first “Netflix For Yoga” providing creative Yoga and Yoga Lifestyle content across all devices. Adriene combines studies of traditional yoga with developmental movement, storytelling and mindfulness. Her approach to regular self care embodies a playfulness and even a sense of humor that encourages all personalities to the mat. With a professional theatre background, Adriene works in television, voiceover, film and dance and is a regular contributor for magazines and blogs. She writes a regular underground blog for her global community each week and in 2018 will launch FWFG Podcast. Adriene hosts classes and workshops in yoga, meditation and self care in the modern world all across the globe.

Aleksandra Przegalinska - PhD in philosophy of artificial intelligence, Assistant Professor at Kozminski University, currently Research Fellow at the Center for Collective Intelligence at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. Recent visiting scholar at The New School for Social Research/ Brown University in New York City (2014). In 2011 Aleksandra worked as the Chairman of Media Regulation Working Party at the Council of European Union in Brussels. As a William J. Fulbright Scholar Aleksandra also majored in Sociology at The New School for Social Research in New York (2012), where she participated in research on identity in virtual reality, with particular emphasis on Second Life. Aleksandra’s current primary research interest include consequences of introducing artificial intelligence systems to people’s social and professional sphere as well as wearable technologies and human/bot interaction.

Alexey Li is a passionate internet entrepreneur and angel investor. He is the co-founder of the largest online travel agency in Kazakhstan, After a successful merger he is working on his new ventures. Earlier, he founded, the first Kazakhstan online ticketing platform for movies, theaters, sports and cultural events. He has some background in art, information design and computer programming. He is an active member of startup community and is often invited as a speaker to startup events on entrepreneurship and management.

Alfredo Orobio is one of the leading names in co-creation. He has studied and tested the benefits of co-creation in the creative industries with his own brand AWAYTOMARS, a collaborative network for design talent with the objectives of promoting co-creation, advancing creativity and striving for a more inclusive fashion industry. Since its launch in 2015, AWAYTOMARS has been highlighted within the industry for its innovative uses of technology. It now comprises more than 15,000 registered designers from 93 countries, making it the biggest fashion collective in the world.Alfredo holds an International Relations degree and also studied luxury and fashion brand management. During the last 13 years he has worked in management, marketing, communications, innovation and digital intelligence, working as a consultant for major companies and brands including Bentley, Burberry, Coach, Tory Burch, LATAM Airlines, Accor, Estée Lauder, GM, Lexus, Honda, Volkswagen, Whirlpool, Swarovski, Pandora, Embraer, Diageo, Pernod-Ricard, Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson and Coca Cola.

With over 25 years of experience, Ana has shown leadership in product management, product design, and creative direction across new technology surfaces for consumer electronics, lifestyle experiences, UX/UI systems, and ethics & AI. Her talents have been recognized by iF Design Awards, Good Design Awards, EISA Awards, and Cool Hunting. Formerly with Facebook, Samsung, Monohm, Sony & PlayStation, and Apple, Ana is now a Partner, Design Director for AI/Research & Bing with Microsoft. Her values are grounded in principles that every experience crafted should be – Human. Simple. Authentic.

André is a venture partner at Obvious Ventures, was a co-founder and general partner for Sustainable Technologies Associates LP, and co-founded and managed the Sustainable Technologies Fund, the first Nordic focused cleantech venture fund. He has served on the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, and The Heinz Center for Science, Economics and the Environment, which sought to bring researchers, environmentalists and business leaders together to jointly address society’s most pressing environmental challenges. André Heinz, Chairman of the Board of The Heinz Endowments, heads one of the largest and most active private foundations in the U.S. Under his leadership, the Endowments, which has assets of over $1.5 billion, recently restructured its work around a core mission of fostering equity and the promotion of a more just community. The foundation also narrowed its priorities to focus on three main areas of giving: Sustainability, Creativity and Learning.

Anita joined W+K Amsterdam in 2016 and helped to establish the ‘Department of New Realities (DPTNR)’ - a venture hell bent on finding new and innovative ways to bring together clients and their consumers. Prior to W+K, Anita and her creative partner, Geoffrey Lillemon, started an interactive research lab inside agency Modernista!, then moved to Amsterdam and opened their own digital boutique agency Champagne Valentine - where they made sensory art experiences for The Tate Modern, Comedy Central and Diesel. For over a decade they created backdrops for pop mega-stars like Miley Cyrus, directed films for fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, worked with Google and startups in Silicon Valley, started VFX companies and exhibited VR games in museums.

Annette Werner studied Biology at the Free University Berlin, and in 1990 was awarded aPhD in Neurobiology for her work on color constancy in honeybees. As a postdoc at the Hong Kong University for Science and Technology (HKUST), and then later at New YorkUniversity (NYU), Annette focused on human-computer interface problems and humancolor constancy. In 2002 she relocated to Tübingen, Germany, where she now heads up the Color Vision Lab at the Institute for Ophthalmic Research at the University Eye Hospital; she is also the Associate Professor for Neurobiology at the Faculty for Mathematics and NaturalSciences of the University of Tübingen. In 2015, she co-founded the Tübingen Color Consortium and in 2017 the open access journal Color Turn. Annette’s research is highly interdisciplinary, and includes human as well as animal color vision, color aesthetics and visual illusions (e.g. #TheDress). She also studies visual perception in honeybees, with the aim of examining the general principles of neural information processing in small brains.

Armina Howada Mussa (b. 1990) is an interdisciplinary visual artist and co-creative director at creative agency Saint Heron. Mussa’s art practice spans the disciplines of sculptural installation, durational performance and video art, exploring personal trauma and the impact it inflicts on the individual. As a creative director at Saint Heron Mussa has co-curated a number of immersive programs including video installations with contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth, film screenings & panel discussions with Black female film directors Julie Dash at New Orleans Film Festival, Frances Bodomo at Stony Arts Bank Gallery in Chicago, along with interactive experiences like musical meditations at FORM Acrisonti Festival featuring artists like Kelela and Kelsey Lu. This year Mussa debuted her solo show, “‘Small Sculptures and Symbols”—A fragmented environment of 45 sculptures, created entirely in nine days. This sculptural installation involved the use of numbers and repetition as a way of giving insight to emotional frequencies.

Ben Clayton is a founding member of, developing new planet and people friendly food and agricultural enterprises redressing the causes and effects of climate change and helping young adults who are looking for economic, social, and environmentally responsible employment and cooperative business opportunities alternative to traditional extractive economies. Through advisory board membership at, Ben is working to strengthen the impact of social food innovation projects and project leaders through project and skill development. Also advisory board member of, the world’s first revenue sharing and fully regulated security token designed to accelerate the growth of businesses through easy access to investment capital as an alternative to banks and VC’s. Turned on by the future, the present, tech, and nature. As a member of numerous startups, startup support organizations, hackathons, accelerators like, and longtime supporter of Montréal's international, Ben works to ensure Montréal's startup scene continues to flourish.

Bernard Agius is particularly passionate about anything tech and disruptive. He leads the Malta Communications Authority’s business innovation arm and is responsible for the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at growing digital business activity in Malta. Before joining the MCA Bernard headed the Maltese information society program coordinating initiatives addressing ICT take-up, digital inclusion and digital competence. Bernard holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Durham University specializing in ICT diffusion in consumer markets.

Bret Schafer is a social media analyst and communications officer at the Alliance for Securing Democracy at German Marshall Fund. He has a master’s in public diplomacy from the University of Southern California, and a BS in communications with a major in radio/television/film from Northwestern University. As an expert in computational propaganda, he has appeared in the New York Times, Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, and the Los Angeles Times, and he has regularly been a guest on NPR and BBC radio. Prior to joining ASD, Bret spent more than ten years in the film industry, including stints as a development assistant at Cartoon Network, a development producer at Citizen Skull Productions, and a freelance writer at Warner Brothers. He has also worked in Budapest as a radio host, and in Berlin as a semi-professional baseball player in Germany’s Bundesliga. He is the former editor-in-chief of Public Diplomacy Magazine, and his work has been published in the Chronicle of Social Change,, and the Cipher Brief, among others. His regional interests are Russia and Central/Eastern Europe, and he previously interned in the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia.

Brit Stakston – mediastrategist, author and entrepreneur. CEO of Stakston PR and the investigative journalistic platform Blankspot. One of Sweden´s leading experts and speakers on digitization, the new medialandscape and social media i.e in relations to politics and civic engagement. 2010 she wrote the book Politics 2.0 and as a follow up she this year launched a podcast called ”Backing democracy” , in Swedish ”#backademokratin”. As a PR-strategist she has worked with many of the worlds leading brands and is considered as one of the most influential PR-strategists in Sweden. She has also been awarded for her inspiring way of educating and evangelizing concerning the development of society in a digital age. In her work as a media strategist she focuses on media trends, democracy, engagement and manipulation of media. Brit is a board member of Wikimedia Sweden, The Kality foundation and The Swedish Magazine Publisher´s Association. She has also has served as an advisor to the former Swedish IT-minister.

Britt Wray researches the science and ethics of emerging technologies and makes documentaries, podcasts, and books about what she finds. She is co-host of the BBC podcast Tomorrow's world and an appearing host on CBC TV's The Nature of Things as well as CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks. Britt is the author of Rise of the Necrofauna: The Science, Ethics and Risks of De-Extinction. She holds degrees in biology and media arts as well as a PhD in science communication with a focus on synthetic biology.

Byron Rich is an artist, professor and lecturer born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His work exploring speculative design, biology futures and tactical media ecology has been widely shown and spoken about internationally. He was the recent recipient of an Honorary Mention from Ars Electronica (2017), and runner-up at the Bio-Art & Design Awards in 2016. He pursued a BFA in New-Media from The University of Calgary before finding himself in Buffalo, New York where he received an MFA in Emerging Practices at The University at Buffalo. He now teaches Electronic Art & Intermedia at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Captain Cornelissen has participated in more than 25 Sea Shepherd campaigns, serving nonstop as a member of the Sea Shepherd crew on board the ships until the end of 2007 when he started working as the Director of Operations in the Galapagos Islands. Here he ran an effective campaign to stop poaching in the Galapagos Marine Reserve. In January 2014, Captain Cornelissen became the CEO of Sea Shepherd Global and is now responsible for all the movements of the vessels in Sea Shepherd’s Global fleet.

Carl Öhman is a doctoral candidate at the Oxford Internet Institute, supervised by Professor Luciano Floridi. He holds a research grant from technology doctor Marcus Wallenberg’s foundation for education in international industrial enterprise.His interests fall at the intersection between economic sociology and ethics. More specifically, Carl’s research looks at the ethical challenges regarding commercial management of ‘digital human remains’, data left by deceased users on the Internet.Carl graduated from Oxford 2016 with the award-winning thesis The Political Economy of Death in the Age of Information: A Critical Approach to the Digital Afterlife Industry. Prior to the OII, Carl studied for a B.A. in Sociology and Comparative literature at Uppsala University Sweden, where he explored autobiographical strategies among social media users, and the political economy of Twitter hashtags.Research interests: Digital Afterlife, Death, Immortality, Ethics, Economic sociology, Critical theory, Informational privacy, Personal identity, Ontology.

Christian Giacom holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Trento, in Italy, with a research thesis on the international implication of a cruise ship’s internal social structure. He travelled, worked and studied in different places around the world to improve languages, skills and social knowledge. Since 2010 he is employed at Trentino Sviluppo Spa, the Development Agency of the Autonomous Province of Trento, established to foster the sustainable growth of the “Trentino system”, by developing actions and services aimed at supporting the creation of new entrepreneurial and innovation projects. A reference point for the enterprises willing to operate in Trentino. During all these years, he’s been involved in territorial development projects, start-up and SME creations, business consultancies and the coordination of European Projects. Being a tutor of the mechanic and mechatronics’ cluster, he has worked together with national and well-established international companies with a view to support partnerships, understand and facilitate possible enterprise networks among companies, universities, research centers and Public Institutions in order to foster innovation at all levels. Currently he’s in charge of the start-up attraction project, which aims to scout and invites new ideas and companies in the Trentino Region’s Business Innovation Centre, a Government Certified Incubator, in order to give them the opportunity to grow and be ready for the market. He focuses on the mechatronics, greentech and sportech sector, managing local and international calls for tender. Together with the rest of the team offers continuous supports and spur to the almost 140+ companies (start-up and SME) hosted by Trentino Sviluppo in its six incubators.

Claire L. Evans is a writer and musician. She is the singer and coauthor of the pop group YACHT, the founding editor of Terraform, VICE's science-fiction vertical, and the author of Broad Band: The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the Internet. She is the former futures editor of Motherboard, and a contributor to VICE, Rhizome, The Guardian, WIRED, and Aeon; previously, she was a contributor to Grantland and wrote National Geographic's popular culture and science blog, Universe. She is an advisor to design students at Art Center College of Design and a member of the cyberfeminist collective Deep Lab. She lives in Los Angeles.

Daniel Plotrino is entrepreneur, technology executive and innovation expert. He co-founded the startups Vivant, Wearbee and was CTO of IoT Experience, a knowledge platform developing the Internet of Things. Most recently founded Akaty Innovation, a company dedicated to accelerating corporate innovation and startups growth. He is Director at FIESP (Federation of Industry from São Paulo State), the largest Brazilian industry sector entity, representing more than 130,000 industries and hosting the largest startups hub from Latin America, where he is helping to develop the Brazilian startups ecosystem and connecting it with other around the globe. He is also is speaker, mentor and advisor in private and governmental programs for startup development.

Daria Lipatova is an international relations professional and business development expert. With her role as the Head of International Acceleration Programs at the Skolkovo Innovation Center - leading innovation ecosystem in Russia aimed at the country’s transformation from a resource-intensive to an innovation-based economy, Daria is focused on bridging world leading technology centers and accelerators with sparkling technology innovations nurtured in Skolkovo.

Dawid Marcinkowski and Katarzyna Kifert aka The Kissinger Twins are a film and interactive director duo. In their works, they mix digital technologies with film, music and literature to create new forms of storytelling. They are authors of artistic projects such as Sufferosa, Forget Me Not, Webby Award winning The Trip, but also create interactive films and experiences for brands such as Expedia, Honda, Channel 4 or Samsung. Their work has been awarded and presented at international film and new media festivals, including SXSW, Vancouver IFF, Reykjavik IFF, onedotzero, NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.

Denitsa is the CEO of the Association of the Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE) where she leads and supports a community of 200+ members and entrepreneurs while running projects such as the Bulgarian National Finale of Central European Startup Awards, the digital startup map of Bulgaria - and others. She is also involved in several startup projects - in the blockchain-based Open Source University as a community advisor and in the program for digital entrepreneurship in the construction sector Leaders Academy as part of the advisory board. Denitsa's professional experience includes working as a business reporter at and as an expert on “General investment services” at Invest Bulgaria Agency. Denitsa holds a Master of e-Management and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia and graduated a Summer Entrepreneurship Program at Babson College in the United States.

Emilie Baltz is an award-winning food designer, technologist and experiential artist who uses food and the senses as material for provoking delightful new experiences that create emotional impact. She creates large scale dining experiences, experimental instruments, books, innovation workshops, and happenings that foster joy, curiosity and human connection.

Eric Morrow is the Director of Design Thinking at ConsenSys. His mission is to introduce design thinking as the default way venture teams at ConsenSys engage with users and clients to create incredible product, service, and consulting experiences. He also helps internal teams use design thinking to create better processes and outcomes to serve the wider ConsenSys community.

As the creator of PostSecret, Frank Warren has been recognized by Forbes as one of the top five most influential people on the Internet. His award-winning project has served as home to over a million highly personal secrets mailed anonymously on postcards. The PostSecret website has become a phenomenon with more than 800 million views. It remains the largest advertisement-free blog in the world. All six PostSecret books have become New York Times bestsellers. Awarded the Mental Health Advocacy Lifetime Achievement Award, Frank is most proud of the efforts put forth by the PostSecret community on behalf of mental wellness and suicide prevention. He continues to travel and host multimedia PostSecret Live events.

Gabrielle Costigan is the Managing Director for weXelerate. She spent 10 years in the oil and gas industry in the executive management roles of scaling the oil business in the Middle East. She has also worked for Accenture for 10 years, a global management consulting company and with Fortune 500 companies in the area of strategy, intelligent operations, digital value creation and innovation. With a civil engineering background - Gabrielle is passionate about “bridging” the gaps between (traditional) corporates and entrepreneurship for effective impact. She is a mum of an amazing 5 year old who has opened the eyes of what creative thinking means in every-day life.

Johanna joined Norrsken Foundation in 2017. Her professional responsibilities are split between the investment team and management team. As part of Norrsken’s investment team, Johanna filters incoming investment applications, evaluates pitches, and supports commercial-, legal- and financial due diligence processes. In addition to this, Johanna focuses on strategic projects that relate to Norrsken’s expansion to Africa and the rest of Europe. Johanna has a B.A. from the University of Cambridge, where she studied Economics, Law and Environmental Sustainability. Prior to joining Norrsken, she worked in Goldman Sachs’ London-based real estate investment team.

John Connell is a Berlin-based composer, media theorist and co-director of spatial sound collective 4DSOUND. His central focus is listening as a practice in itself: how our ability to listen spatially opens up heightened levels of inter-subjective awareness, and the interactive potential this raises for emerging media technologies. He has performed at experimental music showcases such as CTM Festival Berlin, TodaysArt NL, Berlin Atonal and the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest, with essays, talks and workshops examining spatial sound and social theory at Goldsmiths University of London, TEDxDanubia, and many others.

Josh Rubin is a photographer, interaction designer, entrepreneur and the co-founder and Editor in Chief of COOL HUNTING – a fifteen year old digital publication highlighting innovations in culture, design and technology for a global audience of creative professionals. The Webby Award winning online magazine also operates an original content studio, strategic consultancy and experimental retail program called COOL HUNTING Omakase. Josh held design leadership positions at Razorfish and Motorola. He earned a BA in Cognitive Science and Photography from Hampshire College and a Master’s from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, where his 1999 graduate thesis focused on modular, scalable, touch-screen interfaces. Josh runs COOL HUNTING in partnership with his husband Evan Orensten.

Throughout​ ​​Julie's career, customer centricity and being a​ ​frontrunner in introducing important and sustainable changes in society have​ ​been focus points.​ ​Introducing organic biscuits in regular sales points​ ​and selling cherry stones as a wellness product have been part of her​ ​experience in the private sector.​ ​Since 2001 Julie joined the city of Antwerp as an​ ​economic consultant. She founded ‘Bedrijvenloket’, the one stop shop for​ ​entrepreneurs. The last three years she has been project manager digital​ ​innovation. By fostering the ecosystem for digital innovation, the city of​ ​Antwerp stimulates a faster and more successful acceleration of a growing​ ​number of companies.

Keith Jones runs Sw7 (Start with Seven), Africa’s largest technology accelerator, with his wife, Odette Jones. Keith worked in tech for ten years in UK, Belgium, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia before buying a boat and sailing back to South Africa to start his own tech business. He ran this business for ten years and listed it in London in 2009. He left in 2011 to ride his motorbike from Cape Town to Cairo and started Sw7 in 2013. Sw7 has run nine programs in Cape Town, Africa’s acceleration hub, and Johannesburg, Africa’s commercial hub. They have accelerated over one hundred and fifty tech business and have over one hundred tech CEO’s that Mentor for them. Their mission is Acceleration at Scale, their goal is to accelerate ten thousand businesses in Africa in the next four years.

Kelly is an innovative, media-centric global senior executive who consistently builds brands and revenue growth through innovative marketing initiatives to drive change through organizations of all sizes. Kelly is a passionate team and people leader, having managed teams of hundreds in organizations of all sizes. In her current role, Kelly serves as a guide for the LVMH maisons in all aspects of brand awareness initiatives, ensuring that the most modern storytelling mechanisms are deployed around the world. She directs a global team supporting digital brand strategy, consumer journeys, pilots, and creative.

Khalifa Almarri is the Director of the Infrastructure Operations Department at Smart Dubai. He is responsible for ensuring the continual operations of all of Smart Dubai’s underlying infrastructure and the Dubai Government Shared Infrastructure, like the Government Information Network, which serves as the backbone of communication between the Dubai Government entities. Khalifa has over 13 years of experience in IT Services and Infrastructure Operations. He began his career at Dubai Aluminium (now Emirates Global Aluminium,) working in fields such as IT Security, IT Networking, IT Operations, and Telecommunications. Since then he moved on to IT leadership roles at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and later joined Smart Dubai. Khalifa holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Information Technology from The Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai, and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and Publishing from City, University of London.

Line Gerstrand has worked strategically with digital transformation, Business Development and Smart Cities since 2005. She is a co-founder of the Smart Aarhus partnership and works as Smart City coordinator in the City of Aarhus. Line was heavily involved in the launch of Denmark’s first open data portal in 2013 and is behind events like Internet Week Denmark and more recently Denmark’s first Sharing Economy Festival in 2017.

As the Chief Innovation Officer of WirtschaftsWoche, Léa develops products and live experiences for Germany's leading business magazine. In charge of assessing experimental formats, new technologies, and innovative business models, she is a speaker on various digital topics. Together with the publisher, she hosts a weekly livestream on digital developments and used to analyze the impact of algorithms on markets and democracy in a bi-weekly column called Code Capital. She is part of the founding team of ada, the company’s new platform for exchange and training for tomorrow’s digital economy. Prior to joining Handelsblatt Media Group, Léa worked for social justice organizations in Bosnia-Hercegovina, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A German native, raised European, she holds an MPP from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and a BA in International Affairs from Princeton University, and an IB from the United World College of the Atlantic.

Macy is a design researcher, strategist, facilitator, and former intellectual property lawyer, with a background in fine arts. She is driven by expression and empowerment tied to the hyphen of in-between spaces. Macy is particularly interested in design opportunities that bridge her multidisciplinary background at the intersection between arts, culture, and technology. Macy holds a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation from OCAD University in Toronto, Canada.

Maria works at Startup Portugal, a non-profit organization created to support entrepreneurs and investors who wish to set up their businesses in Portugal. Previously, she spent 2 years as special advisor to the Portuguese Government, helping to design public policies on entrepreneurship. Starting as a business journalist 20 years ago, she told the stories of countless startups and conspired to become a founder herself. After an 8-year detour through a couple of multinational consultancy firms, she left to create Too Small To Fail, a service-provider helping shape the startup Lisbon ecosystem.

Maria is a Spanish mixed media artist born in San Vicente de la Barquera, a small fishing village by the Atlantic coast. In 2001, Maria moved to Madrid to study Fine Arts at the University Complutense, where she also completed her Masters in Art Education. Maria mainly works with natural media, such as hemp, bees wax, wood, branches, thread and fabrics. She is adept at wood carving and sculpture and her main source of inspiration is the natural world. Peñil creates works related to patterns and structures found in nature, organic and primitive shapes that make the observer uncomfortable and warm at the same time. Maria moved to Beverly, MA in 2010 and soon after met Memo in 2011. Together, they have been exploring making living art with bacteria grown on agar ever since.

Mehmet, also known to his friends as Memo, is a Turkish-born international microbiologist having received his education in Vienna, Toronto, London, Houston and Boston. Memo’s dream since his childhood has been to conduct high level science while at the same time making art using the same scientific methodologies. Memo is currently a Senior Scientist at New England Biolabs where his laboratory conducts research on genetically engineering bacteria to produce proteins.

Mike Shinoda is a songwriter, performer, record producer, film composer and visual artist with a B.A. in illustration and Doctorate of Humane Letters from Art Center College of Design. He is best known as co-lead vocalist for multi- platinum Grammy-Award winning rock band, Linkin Park, who has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and commanded a massive fan following, holding the title as the most-liked band on Facebook and amassing over 5.5 billion YouTube views. Shinoda is the founding member of the group, which achieved the best-selling debut of this century with their Diamond-certified album, Hybrid Theory, selling over 10 million copies in the US alone. Collectively, they sold out stadiums around the globe and earned a multitude of accolades including 2 Grammy Awards, 5 American Music Awards, 4 MTV VMA Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards, 3 World Music Awards, and most recently, “Rock Album of the Year” at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards for their seventh studio album, One More Light. In 2005, Shinoda launched his first solo project, Fort Minor, releasing The Rising Tied to critical acclaim and the single “Where’d You Go,” which reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and accumulated nearly 10 million YouTube views. To date, he has released 10 music videos from Post Traumatic and his YouTube channel has garnered over 37 million views.

Nadja is the CEO and co-founder of Massive, a media company that gives science a voice. She is a former research scientist, science media producer and documentary filmmaker. She has worked as a researcher in labs at MIT, Harvard, and Cambridge University, and worked as a producer at Mashable and Buzzfeed. Her work elucidating science for the public has been published in The Atlantic, Vox, and Vice. She worked at HarvardX for almost four years producing one of the first Harvard massive open online courses, The Fundamentals of Neuroscience, for over 200,000 international science enthusiasts and learners.

Naveen Raja is a design strategist with hundreds of hours design thinking facilitation experience. His passion for design has allowed him to vision, scope and scale design facilitation programs for companies both large and small. Through helping various teams at IBM, Fidelity Investments, Citibank, Marriott Hotels and more he is perfecting his recipe for how to help people to achieve by using design thinking. He is passionate about how people, places and cultures intermix and the significance it can play in creating an experience. When he’s not writing about design, you can find him doing Brazilian Juijitsu or hopping on a plane to see the world.

Ola Källenius has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG since January 1, 2015. In this function, he is responsible for Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development since January 1, 2017. Ola was born on June 11, 1969, in Västervik (Sweden). After attending school and obtaining Abitur (university entrance examination) at Grammar School of Danderyd (Sweden), he attained Master’s degree in “International Management” and “Finance and Accounting” at the Stockholm School of Economics (Sweden) and at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). He joined the then Daimler-Benz AG as Trainee within the International Management Associate Program in 1993.

Paul Oomen is a composer, curator and technologist with a Master in Music Composition from the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Universität der Künste Berlin. As founder of 4DSOUND and the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest, his personal efforts in innovating the medium of spatial sound span over a decade of technology development, creative productions, writings and lectures, working together with diverse internationally acclaimed organisations such as Waterloo University Ontario Canada, the Bavarian State Opera, ZKM | Centre for Arts and Media Karlsruhe, Red Bull Music Academy and TEDx among others. His curatorial explores the impact of listening and spatial awareness on a variety of fields such as music and performing arts, architecture and public space, cognitive and behavioural studies, medicinal and therapeutic practices and virtual and augmented reality.

Founder and CEO of Per Schlingmann AB. Per is a PR and marketing expert. He is an advisor to top-tier companies in communication, strategy and change management. He is an author of several books in the area such as "Urban Express" and "Kommunikationskriget". Per has a unique background from both politics and business. He served as an advisor to the Swedish Prime Minister, and had a central role in shaping the Moderate Party in Sweden as the Chief of Communication, Party Secretary and Chief Strategist. Per is one of the leading speakers in Sweden in areas of digitization, communication and change management. He has been pointed out as one of the most influential communicators in Sweden and perceived by many as the Swedish Spin Doctor. Per is Vice Chairman of SOS Childrens Villages and in the board of Svenska Film. His novel "I maktens öga" is being made into a film adaptation on Viaplay Originals and season 1 will be aired in the beginning of 2019.

Dr. Peter Asaro is a philosopher of science, technology and media. His research examines the social, ethical and legal implications of autonomous technologies. This includes agency and autonomy, liability and punishment, and privacy and surveillance as it applies to robotics, automation, smart buildings, drones, autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence. Dr. Asaro is Associate Professor in the School of Media Studies at the New School in New York City, an Affiliate Scholar at Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society, co-founder of the International Committee for Robot Arms Control, and is a leader of the international Campaign to Stop Killer Robots. He has developed technologies in the areas of virtual reality, data visualization and sonification, human- computer interaction, computer-supported cooperative work, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robot vision, and neuromorphic robotics at the National Center for Supercomputer Applications (NCSA), the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, and Iguana Robotics, Inc., and helped design the natural language interface for the Wolfram|Alpha computational knowledge engine for Wolfram Research. Dr. Asaro earned his PhD and a Master of Computer Science degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign.

International human rights lawyer and digital rights advocate. She is the Director of the Smart Citizenship Foundation in Latin America. In her practice, she represented indigenous victims of genocide and other human rights abuses, including the prominent indigenous leader and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Rigoberta Menchu Tum. She also represented awarded journalist Julian Assange and Wikileaks. As part of her longstanding advocacy work in the field of Internet and Human Rights, from 2013 to 2015, she co-led with World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners – Lee a global campaign to uphold human rights in the digital age in more than seventy-five countries. Avila sits on the Board of Creative Commons, is a trustee of the Courage Foundation, - an organization set up to assist whistleblowers at risk - and is an advisory board member of Diem25, a movement to democratize Europe. Her book Women, Whistleblowing Wikileaks” was published by OR Books. She is currently writing a book on Digital Colonialism and regularly writes for several international newspapers.

Renée DiResta is the Director of Research at New Knowledge and Head of Policy at nonprofit Data for Democracy, where she investigates the spread of disinformation and manipulated narratives across social networks. She has advised Congress, the State Department, and other academic, civic, and business organizations. In 2017, Renée was named a Presidential Leadership Scholar. In 2018, she received a Mozilla Foundation fellowship and affiliation with the Berkman-Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University to work on their Media, Misinformation, and Trust project. She is a Founding Advisor to the Center for Humane Technology, and a Staff Associate at Columbia University Data Science Institute.

Robert Bolton is a Canadian artist, strategist, and founder of the foresight studio From Later. As an advisor to Fortune 500 C-suites, Robert leads interdisciplinary teams, using design thinking and foresight methods, to solve complex problems and generate brand, revenue, and profit growth. His artistic work encourages critical and creative thinking about long-term future developments and uncertainties. Robert was a National Science Foundation AoSL Innovation Fellow and holds a Masters of Arts in the Humanities from the University of Chicago.

Sam founded Chinwag in 1996, the organisation supports fast-growing technical businesses expand globally, working with 300+ firms and government trade agencies in the UK, US and Korea. Sam has led over 20 trade delegations showcasing industry verticals including Immersive Technology, Fintech, AdTech, Creative and Digital Agencies, Robotics and is a communications advisor for the UK Government’s £33m Audience of the Future and £80m Creative Clusters programs. He led the team that grew Social Media Week London, a collaborative festival to 280 events across London with 15,000 delegates attending as well as launching Chinwag Psych, the world’s first behavioral economics for business conference. In 2014, he launched Pitch NYC a new event to help later-stage tech firms raise US investment to expand internationally. He is an independent assessor for the Innovate UK, the UK government’s innovation agency and a regular mentor at startup programs including MassChallenge, the Open Data Institute startup program and Techstars London.

Sanja Stankovic is co-founder of Hamburg Startups and StartupSpot Germany. Hamburg Startups is the leading independent private startup platform in northern Germany and is committed to effective networking and presentation of the regional startup scene. The ecosystem, which has been significantly influenced by their work in recent years, has become a model for numerous other locations. In addition to the magazine, various extraordinary event formats such as the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch and HamburgStartups@SXSW the team around the founders Sina Gritzuhn and Sanja Stankovic has created the StartupSpot, a platform that offers a transparent presentation of all startups in Germany and deep data insights into regions such as Hamburg, Baden-Württemberg, Rhine-Main and Central Germany. In April of this year, the StartupSpot Female Founders the first German database with startups with at least one female founding member, was published, which proves that 25% of startups in Germany are once again co-founded by women.

Stef is the go-to guy for startups in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. On behalf of the city he helps Eindhoven-based startups to succeed and grow by engaging them in the city’s innovation ecosystem. Next tot his, he is responsible for introducing outside startups and scaleups to Brainport Eindhoven – Europe’s leading high-tech region with Eindhoven at its very heart. Before joining the city of Eindhoven, Stef worked as a tech journalist and project manager for a EU-funded innovation project.

Stephanie Lampkin, TEDx speaker and former downhill ski racer, has graced the cover of The Atlantic, MIT Tech Review 35 under 35 and Forbes to name a few. She is the founder & CEO of Blendoor, enterprise software that mitigates unconscious bias in hiring. Stephanie has had a 15 year career in the tech industry founding two startups and working in technical roles at Lockheed, Microsoft, and TripAdvisor. Stephanie holds a BS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from MIT. Born in SE Washington, DC to a homeless single mother that battled a drug addiction, Stephanie has seen the world through many lenses and experienced being over-marginalized and underestimated. These experiences have given her insights that she now uses to promote technology that levels playing fields and helps us see people better.

Surya Mattu is a Brooklyn based artist, engineer and investigative journalist who look at the ways in which algorithmic systems perpetuate systemic biases and inequalities in society. He is currently a Research Scientist at the Center for Civic Media at the MIT Media Lab and a resident at Eyebeam. Previously, he has been the data reporter at Gizmodo's Special Projects Desk and a contributing researcher at ProPublica, where he worked on Machine Bias, a series that aims to highlight how algorithmic systems can be biased and discriminate against people. Machine Bias was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Explanatory Journalism. He has shown work at The Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Sundance Film Festival The Whitney Museum, V&A Museum and Bitforms Gallery

Tom Gray graduated from Queen’s University Belfast, holds a BSc. in Computer Science, and has studied Innovation Management at MIT Sloan. Tom is a 30-year tech veteran and, in addition to being Director of Digital Catapult Northern Ireland, is CTO and Director of Innovation at Kainos Group plc. Tom has been the driving force behind many of Kainos’ most innovative and successful customer and staff initiatives, including HealthHackEU, Kainos AI Camp, CodeCamp and Code4Derry. Tom founded and curates the content for the annual BelTech conference, which has a strong focus on emerging Digital technology. Tom invests in NI Startups and is a Director of SureCert and NEON. Tom is a member of the Board of the Northern Ireland Science Panel – MATRIX – and is Deputy-Chair of the MATRIX ICT panel. Tom is a member of the CCEA Regulatory Advisory Panel. Tom is Chairman of the University of Ulster Industrial Liaison Board, and is a member of the Industry Board of Manchester Connected Health. Tom is past-Chair of the IET in Northern Ireland.

At 15 Tom hacked into his school’s computer network and uncovered students who were downloading illegal and damaging content into the school’s computers. Tom revealed the systems’ weaknesses to his headmaster and was rewarded with a bursary and administrative right to the school computers. This was the beginning of Tom’s love affair with coding. A hooded coder by day and thrilling stage performer by night, Tom simultaneously resides in two conflicting worlds. Part dystopian black mirror-esque visionary, part charming entertainer and story-teller. Tom is able to connect and inspire both the worlds most senior web security officials and the average Candy-Crush addict leaving both with jaws dropped. The youngest magician ever to be initiated into the magic circle, for the last five years Tom has had the pleasure of touring the world performing his acts for four presidents, hundreds of celebrities as well as appearing on television in front of over 20 million people. Online his performances have amassed over 40 million views, and at just 25 he has performed his combination of magic and keynote address in over 30 countries on behalf of brands such as Microsoft, HP, Snapchat and Instagram.

Tracy Chou is an entrepreneur, software engineer, and diversity advocate. She is currently exploring and advising a range of new projects across the startup world, civic tech and engagement, and diversity activism. From 2011 to 2016 Tracy was an engineer and tech lead at Pinterest. Prior to that, she worked at Quora, also as an early engineer there. In addition to her engineering career, Tracy is most well-known for her work pushing for diversity in tech. In 2013, she helped to kick off the wave of tech company diversity data disclosures with a crowdsourced data repository; in 2016, she co-founded Project Include. For her advocacy and activism work, Tracy has been named MIT Technology Review 35 Innovators under 35 and Forbes 30 under 30.

Wilson Tseng is the Partnerships Manager for Alibaba Cloud and responsible for building an ecosystem of partners to support companies and businesses with their digital transformation. Previous to that, he has covered various roles within Alibaba Group, working across a number of business divisions including Ant Financial and AliExpress. A tech enthusiast, Wilson had co-founded eHealth startup MediQuo and has been an active mentor in the startup community in Europe. Having lived in places like Spain, UK and China, he has been able to experience firsthand both European and Asian business and cultural landscapes. Wilson holds a BEng on Electromechanical Engineering by the University of Southampton and an MBA by the IESE Business School.

Xin Liu is the current recipient of the Van Lier Fellowship from Museum of Arts and Design in New York and the Arts Curator in Space Exploration Initiative in MIT Media Lab. She has received awards in SXSW, FastCoDesign, Core77 and her academic publications were nominated for best papers in ACM conferences. Xin has shown her work internationally at events and venues including Ars Electronica, Boston Museum of Fine Art , Sundance Film Festival, The Walker Art Center, OCAT Shanghai, Minsheng Contemporary Art Museum, Eyebeam, International Symposium on Electronic Art and Music Tech Festival Berlin . As a researcher, Xin has worked in institutions including Microsoft Research NYC, Microsoft Research Asia, Google ATAP, TASML and presented her research at international conferences including UIST, UbiComp, TEI, DIS and Augmented Human. Xin received her BE in Measurement, Control Technology and Instrument from Tsinghua University in 2013, a MFA in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 and her Master in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT Media Lab in 2017.

Zackes Brustik is passionate about connecting people and organizations within digitalization. As a workshop coach he helps teams and companies to improve and advance their work. He designs and facilitates formats such as cross-unit exchanges, innovation challenges, agile recruiting events or team workshops. He also hosts the stages of various international conferences, competitions and award shows across Europe, always focusing on tech, startups and digitalization. Combining his background in arts with training as a facilitator and coach, he combines his experience in exploration and collaborative creativity with methodological work processes. Currently he works with colleagues on a format for companies to explore the possibilities of blockchain. He's based out of Berlin and Copenhagen.
