    more human than human

catch 2018 AI documentary ‘more human than human’ at me Convention

“To bring life to algorithms — we might consider this to be our great Frankenstein era.” We’re excited to bring the Swedish premiere of More Human Than Human to me Convention on September 5 at the Södra Teatern.

In this official selection at SXSW 2018, directors Tommy Pallotta and Femke Wolting pose one question: could a robot replace a film director? They set a robotics lab the project of a lifetime: to try and build a camerabot to replace Pallotta, who has a familiar face — no coincidence, given his small-but-essential role in Richard Linklater’s cult ‘90s movie Slacker.

The film acts as a comprehensive survey of the current state of AI and the people whose lives are all the better for AI contact as Pallotta and Wolting tour the world, interviewing roboticists and robot-obsessives alike. Don’t miss Linklater himself swinging by to provide us with a voice of scepticism about the whole endeavour. Long story short? This is one documentary you’d have to be inhuman to skip.

Can’t wait to catch the documentary in person? Snap up your pass for me Convention today.
